The MG Astor 2024 was unveiled today by MG Motor India, with a starting price of Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The car competes against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Uban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
The MG Astor 2024 is available in Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro models.
As a petrol-only SUV, the MG Astor has two engine options: a 1.5-litre normally aspirated unit (110bhp and 144Nm) and a 1.3-litre turbocharged one (140bhp and 220Nm). The 1.5-litre engine may be connected with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, whilst the 1.3-litre engine is linked with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The MG Astor 2024 has heated front seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a panoramic sunroof, and auto-dimming IRVM, as well as a revised i-Smart 2.0 with an improved user interface. There are more than 80 related features.
Among the notable i-Smart 2.0 features is the Jio voice recognition technology, which allows sophisticated voice queries for weather, cricket updates, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news, and knowledge. The complex UI is complimented by widget customization on the home screen, which includes several home pages, as well as a special birthday wish function on the head unit that permits date customization via the i-Smart mobile app.

The MG Astor is India’s first SUV with a personal AI assistant and 14 autonomous Level 2 capabilities powered by mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera capable of delivering a variety of advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) functions. MG Astor includes 49 safety features.
